Starbucks Ice Skating Parties Illegally Left Out Union Staff (1)

Starbucks unlawfully excluded unionized workers from holiday parties hosted in Seattle, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.

NLRB Administrative Law Judge Dickie Montemayor held Tuesday that Starbucks Corp’s ice skating holiday parties held for Seattle-area workers illegally left out unionized staff.

According to Montemayor’s decision, Starbucks wanted to “celebrate” and “show appreciation” for the workers after the busy holiday season and after the Covid-19 pandemic by hosting the ice skating events at the arena for the Seattle Kraken hockey team, complete with complementary food, and drinks.
