Starbucks Firing Case Sets Up Trump-era Ruling for Review (1)

Starbucks Corp. illegally fired a shift supervisor from a Manhattan store for their union activities, a National Labor Relations Board judge said in a ruling that tees up Trump-era precedent for reconsideration.

The NLRB previously determined that Starbucks “has demonstrated union animus in committing numerous prior violations,” including illegal terminations, Administrative Law Judge Benjamin Green said in his ruling Monday. The company fired Rhythm Heaton a month after they demanded bargaining and information on behalf of the Starbucks Workers United union, he said.
