Starbucks Faces NLRB Injunction Bid Over ‘Heritage District’ (1)

The National Labor Relations Board again is taking Starbucks Corp. to federal court to seek an order blocking certain company actions while the agency litigates alleged labor law violations.

The 10(j) injunction request, which the board approved April 21, stems from unfair labor practice charges pertaining to the coffee giant’s reorganization of three stores into a “Heritage District” in Seattle.

It’s the seventh such injunction the board has pursued against the company.

The underlying complaint, docketed in March, alleges that Starbucks refused to rehire 33 employees who previously worked at the three stores, including 16 from the company’s flagship Pike ...
