Starbucks Barista Defeats Navy’s Bid to Trim Harassment Lawsuit

A Starbucks barista who worked on a U.S. Navy base in California can present evidence at trial about incidents of alleged sexual harassment by her manager that would otherwise be time-barred, because they were all part of a continuing violation, a federal judge said.

Ashley Rogers’ employment forms required her to contact an Equal Employment Opportunity counselor within 45 days of an alleged sex discrimination incident, which she did in July 2018, after her manager at the San Clemente Island coffee shop allegedly put his hand in her back pocket.
