ResourceMFG, a national manufacturing specialty staffing company, allegedly failed to refer an Oklahoma job applicant for employment because she was not born in the US, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Friday.
Anke Hicks, a German-born naturalized US citizen, was offered a position with a federal government contractor, XPO Logistics. ResourceMFG allegedly terminated Hicks’ onboarding process after telling them that she could provide proof of citizenship but not a US birth certificate, the EEOC said.
The EEOC is seeking injunctive relief, back pay, and compensatory and punitive damages.
