Staffing Company Agrees to Pay $2.2 Million in Fair Credit Suit

Job candidates who alleged they were denied employment opportunities based on credit reports they weren’t allowed to see have settled their case over $2.2 million, which includes a $955 award to each settlement class member.

Judge Michael H. Simon of the US District Court for the District of Oregon granted final approval of the class settlement with the 2,363-member class over allegations that Robert Half International, a recruiting and job placement firm, violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Class Counsel are seeking an attorneys’ fee award of $4.28 million, which Robert Half opposes, the judge said.
