Staffing Agency to Pay $900,000 to Settle Hiring Bias Claims (1)

Staffing agency Kforce Inc. will pay $900,000 to settle claims that its hiring practices discriminated against non-US citizen job seekers, the Department of Justice announced Wednesday.

The Tampa, Fla.-based company will pay $690,000 in civil penalties and $230,000 in compensation to workers under the settlement. It will also be required to train employees on the requirements of the Immigration and Nationality Act and be subject to DOJ monitoring. Kforce did not admit to any wrongdoing in the settlement.

A spokeswoman for Kforce said in an email that the company doesn’t comment on legal matters.
