Spirit Pharmaceuticals Workers Get First Court Nod for Wage Deal

Spirit Pharmaceuticals LLC workers who say they worked up to 79 hours per week without proper overtime pay have preliminary approval of a $1.5 million deal to resolve their claims, a federal magistrate judge said.

The proposed settlement would cover more than 1,100 people who worked for the pharmaceutical distributor and balance the strength of the workers’ wage claims against the risks of proceeding to trial against Spirit, Magistrate Judge James M.
