Special Counsel, FEMA Picks Remain Unvetted, Democrat Warns (1)

The White House hasn’t submitted to senators financial disclosures or background checks for President Donald Trump’s picks to lead the office that safeguards the government’s merit system and FEMA, delaying vetting of the nominees.

Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), the top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, sharply questioned why the two Republican nominees had not submitted financial disclosures or FBI background checks before a confirmation hearing was held Wednesday.
