Southern Poverty Law Center Staff Vote to Form Union

Employees of the Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the nation’s most prominent civil rights legal advocacy organizations, voted to form a union by a vote of 142-45, according to the SPLC Union.

The organizing victory at the Alabama-based nonprofit caps more than a month of an at-times tense union campaign that saw organizers accuse SPLC management of engaging in anti-union tactics such as hiring a “union avoidance” law firm.
