Sodexo Inc. will pay $200,000 to settle Labor Department allegations that it discriminated against male and black applicants in hiring, and women in job placement, at facilities in Texas.
The company, which provides food services and facilities management, discriminated against a class of 138 black and 51 male job seekers who applied for entry-level service worker positions at a Lufkin, Texas, establishment, the DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs alleged. The claims follow an audit by the agency that included an analysis of the company’s hiring data between January 2009 and January 2011.
