Sinclair Meteorologist Must Arbitrate Age Discrimination Claims

A former chief meteorologist with Sinclair Media III Inc. who was fired in his eary 60s and replaced by a 39-year-old can’t pursue his age bias claims in court, a federal judge ruled.

Jim Barach failed to show an arbitration agreement he signed near the end of his tenure with Sinclair Media was unenforceable, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia said June 3.
