Shoe Brand Cole Haan Beats Store Worker’s Wage Lawsuit, for Now

Cole Haan LLC defeated a would-be class action alleging it failed to pay workers for all their hours or provide proper breaks, but a federal judge gave the plaintiff permission to amend his complaint.

The worker didn’t allege enough specific facts to support his overtime and minimum wage claims or explain how the company, which sells footwear and accessories through its own stores and other retailers, prevented him from taking meal and rest breaks, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said in an order filed Wednesday.
