Shamrock Foods Co., a Phoenix-based food services business, agreed to pay $858,492 to settle Labor Department allegations of discrimination against women and minorities in hiring at locations in Arizona and California.
The DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs said the company discriminated in hiring against women, and Black and White applicants for jobs in Phoenix, Ariz., and Eastvale, Calif., in 2017 and 2018. The settlement amount covers wages, benefits, and interest, and the company agreed to offer jobs to affected candidates “as positions become available,” the agency said in a statement Friday.
