Seniors Sue Labor Department Over Training Program Funding Lapse

Former participants in the US Labor Department’s Senior Community Service Employment Program are challenging the Trump administration’s decision to cut funding from the program in Massachusetts federal court.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the District Court for the District of Massachusetts, alleges that the DOL illegally withheld funds from national program sponsors of the only training and workforce development program for low-income seniors, leading to loss of income for an estimated 30,000 former participants.
