Senators Probe Volkswagen Conduct in Wake of Union Campaign (1)

Three U.S. senators are demanding answers from Volkswagen after the company pushed the federal labor board to delay a union election at its Chattanooga, Tenn., plant.

In a May 21 letter to Volkswagen’s top North American executive, Scott Keogh, the senators said they have “deep concern” over the company’s anti-union conduct, as it contradicts Volkswagen’s stated neutrality.

Sens. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) are behind the inquiry. They gave the company a week to respond to their 11 questions.
