Senate Panel Ties Vote on Biden’s Pick to Head National Archives

A Senate panel deadlocked in a vote on the nomination of Colleen Joy Shogan to serve in the role of US Archivist, a position that would oversee the National Archives and Records Administration and one usually not affected by partisan squabbles.

That’s changed, however, with the archivist’s role in recovering and preserving documents relevant to US history—including those seized through an FBI search of former President Donald Trump’s Florida home in August.
