The Senate’s labor panel passed a slate of bills that would alter much of the current legal landscape for workers and businesses, advancing key Democratic priorities for labor policy in the narrowly divided Senate.

The chamber’s Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee advanced legislation Wednesday in 11-10 party-line votes that would overhaul labor laws governing unionization, establish paid sick leave for most workers, and strengthen laws to mitigate wage discrimination based on gender.
