The Senate approved Jessica Looman to head the busy Department of Labor sub-agency that serves as the main enforcer of wage and child labor laws.
The chamber voted 51-46 Wednesday to solidify Looman’s role as DOL’s Wage and Hour Administrator after she had been serving as the principal deputy in the division, a role designated for her to lead the sub-agency while her nomination was pending without triggering litigation.
Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan provided the sole Republican vote in favor of Looman.
