Senate Confirms Equal Employment Commissioner, General Counsel

Two nominees for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Aug. 1 were approved by the Senate via unanimous consent, just before members were set to start a five-week recess.

Charlotte Burrows (D) will begin her second term as a member of the commission and Sharon Gustafson will be sworn in as the agency’s new general counsel. The picks were approved by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee earlier this week.
