The US Senate advanced Republican Brittany Panuccio’s nomination to join the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, teeing up a vote that will create a long-awaited quorum at the civil rights agency.
Panuccio, an assistant US attorney in Florida, was advanced by a 51-46 vote on Friday. Her addition will eventually allow the commission to carry out changes to workplace anti-discrimination policy and bring litigation that requires at least three-members for an approval vote.
