Senate Approves Lauren McFerran for NLRB; Attorney Wins Confirmation With 54-40 Vote

The Senate Dec. 8 voted 54-40 to confirm Lauren McFerran (D) to serve as a member of the National Labor Relations Board, giving the lawyer a five-year term that will begin next week and run through Dec. 16, 2019.

McFerran has worked as a lawyer for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee since 2005, most recently as the committee’s chief labor counsel and deputy staff director.

She was nominated by the president Nov. 12 to fill the seat that will become vacant Dec. 16 when Nancy J. Schiffer (D) leaves the board at the end of her term. ...
