Fast food workers at twenty-three highway service plazas in Connecticut have voted to ratify a union contract which the Service Employees International Union says is the first of its kind.
Nearly 300 workers affiliated with the local 32BJ SEIU voted Friday to approve a tentative agreement with Applegreen USA Travel Plazas Central Services, which operates service stations across the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast.
The contract covers employees at select Panera Bread, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and Auntie Anne’s locations at twenty-three Applegreen service plazas in the state, the union said.
