A labor union and a New York-based religious organization are asking a federal court to block the early termination of Temporary Protected Status for half a million Haitians in the US.
The Trump administration’s decision to end those protections in August—six months earlier than their original protection date—violates the Administrative Procedure Act and due process clause of the Fifth Amendment, according to a lawsuit filed Friday by SEIU Local 32BJ and the Haitian Evangelical American Clergy Association.
