A private security firm agreed to pay $286,000 to resolve allegations it bargained in bad faith with a union representing the company’s employees who are stationed at federal courthouses, a National Labor Relations Board regional office said.
The deal between Paragon Systems Inc. and the US Court Security Officers union announced Friday settles a complaint that sought a make-whole remedy for the workers’ lost opportunity to bargain. The company will pay the affected workers for lost wages, benefits, and foreseeable economic consequences of its failure to negotiate in good faith, according to the NLRB’s Pittsburgh regional office.
