Second H-1B Lottery Conducted to Reach Visa Cap, Agency Says (1)

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has concluded a second lottery for fiscal year 2021 high-skilled guest workers to reach the annual 85,000 visa cap, the agency confirmed to Bloomberg Law.

The agency determined that additional H-1B registrations needed to be selected to reach the annual visa limit, and a selection of previously submitted electronic registrations was completed on Aug. 11, USCIS spokesman Matthew Bourke told Bloomberg Law. Registrants picked in the second lottery will be able to file petitions for H-1B beneficiaries between Aug. 17 and Nov. 16, he said.
