Sean Penn Eyes Trump’s Government Overhaul to Escape Labor Case

Actor Sean Penn is attempting to use the Trump administration’s push to radically reorder the administrative state to dodge allegations that he illegally threatened workers at his disaster relief nonprofit.

Penn’s lawyer on Thursday asked the National Labor Relations Board’s acting general counsel to drop the case, citing President Donald Trump’s removal of member Gwynne Wilcox and GC Jennifer Abruzzo, as well as his executive order to take control over the NLRB and other independent agencies.
