Schlumberger Lands Early Appeal Permission in Overtime Dispute

Schlumberger Technology Corp. can ask an appeals court to take an early look at its bid to claim an overtime exemption for salaried workers after a federal judge identified more than a dozen questions for review.

The company says it doesn’t owe overtime to former oilfield drilling workers thanks to a Fair Labor Standards Act carveout for highly compensated employees.
