An SB Nation baseball content contributor says Vox Media LLC shortchanged him and other sports bloggers by misclassifying them as independent contractors instead of employees, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Washington.
Patrick Reddington, who managed SB Nation’s Washington Nationals team website, claims that Vox intentionally misclassified contributors to avoid paying minimum wages, overtime, and business expenses, and to gain an unfair advantage over competitors who classify their staff as employees.
