Sam’s Club Sued by Retail Workers Over Closing-Time Wages (1)

Sam’s Club, the retail warehouse chain owned by Walmart, failed to pay thousands of workers for time spent waiting for the stores to close in violation of California law, according to a new lawsuit filed in federal court in Los Angeles.

The proposed class action was brought by Carlos Sanchez, who worked as a cashier at a Sam’s Club in El Monte, Calif. He sued on behalf of other similarly situated workers, including stockers and deli clerks, for state labor and business law violations.
