A House committee advanced bills that would require more transparency around investigations into retirement benefit plans and funding voluntary safety compliance programs.
The House Education and the Workforce Committee voted to approve four bills Wednesday, including one that would expand the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s compliance assistance program. OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program allows companies to undertake an on-site evaluation in order to be exempted from inspections by the agency.
