Ruling in Union Challenge to Trump Orders Expected Aug. 24 (1)

The judge considering a union challenge to three executive orders affecting the federal workforce won’t rule immediately on requests to dismiss the case or halt the president’s orders.

The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, one of the unions participating in a consolidated lawsuit challenging the orders, said in a message to union members that a decision will come Aug. 24.

The parties had expected a ruling shortly after July 25. That’s when Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia will hear arguments on both sides’ summary judgment motions.
