Workers formerly employed at a Ritz-Carlton in Puerto Rico failed to show the luxury hotel ran afoul of notice requirements when laying them off after Hurricanes Irma and Maria, a federal appeals court said.
Even if Luxury Hotels International of Puerto Rico Inc. should have given the workers a few more weeks of warning before terminating their employment, the company—which does business as Ritz-Carlton Hotel Spa & Casino—made up for it with earlier voluntary payments, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit said.
