Rio Tinto Expands Paid Leave to Cover Domestic Abuse (1)

Rio Tinto PLC workers in North America who are victims of domestic violence or family abuse, or with an immediate family member experiencing such abuse, now have access to extra paid leave and benefits.

Company employees in Canada and the U.S. have 10 extra days of paid leave, short-term financial assistance and emergency housing, and support and counseling services through the company, according to an announcement from the Australia-based mining giant. Rio Tinto instituted similar benefits for workers in Australia last year.
