More than 2,400 nurses and other health professionals at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital will vote on a proposed five-year labor contract Aug. 22, the hospital and nurses’ union said.
The negotiating committee for United Nurses and Allied Professionals Local 5098 approved the tentative agreement unanimously on Aug. 17, union spokesperson Ray Sullivan told Bloomberg Law. The negotiators “felt very far apart” at times, but the proposal addresses a number of economic security issues and concerns that members had, Sullivan said Aug. 20.
