Restaurant Pays $125,000 to Settle Server Discrimination Suit

Bennett Enterprises, doing business as Ralphie’s Sports Eatery Company, will pay $125,000 and provide other relief to settle claims that it punished a server for complaining about race and disability discrimination, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced Tuesday.

According to the EEOC, a biracial woman with depression and anxiety worked as a server at Ralphie’s Sports Eatery in Kenton, Ohio. She was subjected to a hostile work environment due to her race, which included her supervisor using racial slurs.
