Reservist Lands Supreme Court Look at Pay Differential Claims

A Coast Guard reservist who says he was entitled to differential pay when called to active duty from his air traffic control job convinced the US Supreme Court Monday to weigh in on his case.

The reservist urged the high court to overturn an intermediate appellate decision that he said “departed from settled understandings” of the requirement that agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration cover the difference between his usual pay and what he earned while on active duty.
