Republicans Move to Reinstate Trump Association Health Plan Rule

House Republicans advanced a measure Wednesday to block the US Department of Labor’s association health plan regulation in a bid to reestablish a Trump-era insurance standard.

The Committee on Education and the Workforce voted 23-12 to move the resolution (H.Res.181) to the House floor. The DOL rule, issued in April, rescinded a policy from the previous administration that had made it easier for small businesses and self-employed people to use cheaper association health plans that don’t comply with all the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.
