Republicans Agree on 1.9 Percent Pay Raise for Federal Workers (1)

Republicans in the House and Senate are proposing a 1.9 percent pay increase for federal workers in calendar year 2019, a move one observer said could help them in the midterm elections.

The “booming economy” made the pay agreement possible, Rep. Tom Graves (R-Ga.), a House Appropriations Committee member, said in an email.

Democrats also favor offering a raise to federal employees.
