Two prominent House Republicans have introduced a bill aimed at preventing Julie Su from serving as acting labor secretary indefinitely.
The Department of Labor Succession Act (H.R. 4957), introduced Thursday by House Workforce Protections Subcommittee Chairman Kevin Kiley (R-Calif.) and House Education and the Workforce Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), would apply to leaders at the US Labor Department the same time limits for officials to serve in an acting capacity set out under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act.
