A Florida county worker can sue a school board for not accommodating his religion even though he wasn’t fired or disciplined in connection with his faith’s imperative to refrain from work at certain times, a federal appeals court ruled.

The US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on Tuesday partially revived Fernando Staple’s lawsuit against the Broward County School Board. As a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Staple’s religion forbids him from working during Sabbath hours, which run from sunset on Fridays to sunset on Saturdays.
