Rejected Postal Service Heat Safety Cases to Get Federal Review

A judge’s decisions overturning five heat safety citations against the U.S. Postal Service will be scrutinized by a federal appeals panel.

The Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission said Monday it will look at five decisions issued in July by a commission administrative law judge vacating citations issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

If the commission upholds the judge’s decision to overturn the five citations against the Postal Service, OSHA might have to rethink how it determines when any employer is required to take protective actions against heat dangers.
