Rehabilitation Clinics Face NLRB Complaint Over Stay-or-Pay Pact

A multi-state nursing and rehabilitation provider was hit with federal labor charges over its enforcement of a stay-or-pay agreement against its workers.

The National Labor Relations Board Region 9 issued a complaint against CommuniCare Family of Companies, alleging that the healthcare provider maintained and tried to enforce an unlawful stay-or-pay agreement that is designed to force workers to stay at the job “against their will,” the agency said in a statement Thursday.
