A record number of Democratic female House members in the 116th Congress could give new life to national paid leave bills, lobbyists and political observers told Bloomberg Law.
“The fact that we have so many more women in Congress will move the conversation toward issues that women have typically spoken out on,” Aparna Mathur, a resident scholar in economic policies at the American Enterprise Institute, told Bloomberg Law.
