RCI Hospitality Holdings Inc. allegedly allowed customers to physically assault dancers at a prominent Chicago strip club, including by choking them, biting them, and exposing their genitals, according to a new class action lawsuit.
Four former Rick’s Cabaret dancers said the sexual assaults were normalized by management’s failure to respond to their complaints, and that they were purposefully misclassified as independent contractors so the company could evade antidiscrimination laws, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
