Raytheon to Launch First Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship

Raytheon Technologies will pilot the Trump administration’s first industry-recognized apprenticeship program, the U.S. Department of Labor said today.

The defense giant is the first company to participate in the private-sector program launched under a 2017 executive order signed by President Donald Trump.

Distinct from traditional registered apprenticeships, the industry-recognized system seeks to expand on-the-job training to new business sectors by allowing private companies in various industries to create their own programs with minimal government interference, outsourcing standards approval to private third parties.
