R&L Carriers Ousts Trucker’s $6.1 Million California Wage Suit

R&L Carriers Shared Services LLC secured dismissal for now of a California truck driver’s wage-and-hour claims after convincing a federal judge not to remand the case to state court.

There’s at least $6.1 million at stake, and the parties are from different states, so the trucking company satisfied the requirements to remove the case from the state court where the worker sued, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. The worker didn’t sufficiently allege state-law wage violations, so the case can’t move forward in federal court either, the Tuesday order said.
