Push Grows to Get Retirement Policy Wishlist in Families Plan

A growing number of retirement advocacy groups are clamoring for President Joe Biden to augment his $1.8 trillion family-focused social spending plan with provisions designed to encourage long-term savings and shore-up investments sapped by the pandemic.

That strategy could be boosted as early as this week by reintroduction of the Securing a Strong Retirement Act, a bipartisan retirement overhaul first introduced last year that’s expected to include automatic enrollment and student loan repayment provisions both plan participants and savings plan service providers favor.
