Contractor Rule Push at OIRA|Federal Worker Bias Hurdles

Parker Purifoy: The White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs has met with eight business groups over the last three weeks to discuss the Labor Department’s pending independent contractor rule proposal.

The meetings suggest that employers may not feel secure about a simple shift back to the independent contractor standard from the first Trump administration, according to David Fortney, an employer-side attorney with Fortney Scott LLC.
