Poultry processor Mar-Jac MS LLC lost its challenge of federal worker safety violations stemming from the death of a worker caught in a machine that cuts chickens.
In a final order released Tuesday, an administrative law judge upheld a US Occupational Safety and Health Administration citation that alleged Mar-Jac failed to have barriers to prevent workers from reaching into the eviscerator machine and to post warning signs about the machine’s dangers.
Mar-Jac will appeal the decision to the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the company’s attorney, J. Larry Stine of Wimberly, Lawson, Steckel, Schneider & Stine P.C. ...
